Bearded collie

This race of shepherd is original of Scotland but, in spite of the name that can induce to ambiguities, it is a dog completely different from all the other Collie. Of likeable and pleasant aspect that also must to its very sweet expression and to its very particular and abundant coat, this obtaining an acceptance every greater time even, outside the United Kingdom. On size not very great, it can live perfectly outdoors although sometimes it prefers to remain calm, thrown on comfortable armchairs.
 
One says that this dog was very well-known at the time of the Romans although this data totally has not been verified. Anyway, its old origin is certain and during long time it was used like guardian of the ewes mainly in the North of Scotland where, thanks to their dense coat, supported without problems the rigors of the winter. It is probable that in the creation of this race they have influenced the Bobtail - or old dog of English shepherd and the small Border to terrier: of first, the Bearded Collie would have inherited so large and hair, of the second, the agility. At the present time very it is extended in the United although enough Kingdom less in other countries.

It is a dog of great vitality and optimal resistance and at the same time of elegant and harmonious aspect. Previous extremities. Straight lines with good bones. Flat shoulders that appear rectums. Metacarpos elastic but nonweak, covered in all its length by rough hair.

Body. Fallen thorax, ribs esbeltas. Relatively long and straight back, solid backs.

Later extremities. Muscular thighs. As much the knee as corvejón presents/displays a good angle in their joints.

Feet. Of made oval form, with plant it lasts and bent and very compact fingers.

Coat. The surface hair is hard, rough and robust, the dense, smooth and fine subhair. The rough beard, falls to both sides of the snout. Its color is black slate or leonado although also it can be gray, brown or sand, sometimes with white spots on the snout, the chest and the extremities.

FEEDING. The necessities in Kcal. daily for the Bearded collie they are of 1.450-1.500. In this race of dense coat, constituted by a double hair and a subhair, the dietetic errors have like result the fall of these, the dryness of the skin and one slight cutaneous descamación. In this case, it is essential to complement the diet with contained insaturados fatty acids in the bacon, vegetal oils, etc.

DAILY CARES. It is precise to cepillar the body of Bearded collie, several times per day.
