Complex pénfigo

It is a set of diseases that have a common denominator produce injuries vesículo-you will blister in the skin, constitute pénfigo vulgar, pénfigo foliáceo, pénfigo erythematous, pénfigo vegetating and to the bulloso penfigoide.

The canine and feline pénfigos represent approx 0.3% of the cutaneous processes. They affect middle-aged animals, has not been predilection of these processes by a certain sex but of race: Akita, Chow chow, Teckel, Newfoundland, Bearded collie, German Shepherd and Doberman to pinscher in pénfigo foliáceo, and German Shepherd and Collie in pénfigo erythematous. Also a greater appearance of the bulloso penfigoide in Doberman has been described to pinscher and Collie

Which is the cause and how appears?
Autoinmune is a disease (to see explanation in Lupus).
The complex pénfigo is characterized by the appearance of vesículo-ampollosas injuries that evolve to pustules, also being able to appear erosive injuries to epidérmicos ulcerativas surrounded by collaretes when breaking the vesicles and/or pustules. These injuries appear at level of the skin although they can also interest to mucous membranes. The vesicles and pustules are transitory soon is appearance in the yellowish scab process.
The different processes from pénfigo show differences with respect to the location of the injuries
* Vulgar Pénfigo
* Foliáceo Pénfigo: the distribution of it injuries normally are in the face and generally very escamosas
* Erythematous Pénfigo. Injuries in the expensive type of fotosensibilizacion, and considered despigmentada nose as a benign form of the foliáceo or like a hybrid between pénfigo foliáceo and erythematous lupus
* Vegetating Pénfigo: injuries that are resembled papilomas (verrugiformes), are extremely rare.
* Bulloso Pénfigo: It affects the mucocutáneas mouth, skin and other unions: lips, ollares, eyelids, prepucio, vulva, anus.

In anyone of these diseases autoinmunes the presence of prurito and pain is variable according to the case, also being able of existing a general sintomatología in the animal like diminution of the appetite or persistent fever
In the case of the vesiculosas diseases the diagnosis is made by biopsy of the affected weave (it requires the exploration of the animal every few hours in order to find vesicles of recent appearance)

Is serious?
The prognosis of the disease varies with the form and intensity of the process. Thus, pénfigo vulgar is fatal in 95% of the cases nontreated, by progressive weakening and generalized infections but with very good results (of it does not cure but of improvement) in case of restoring a treatment and that responds to he himself. Pénfigo foliáceo is less severe, having a good prognosis if it treats, although also can be fatal without treatment. Pénfigo erythematous and vegetating is considered as benign forms without general affectation having better prognosis.

Tiene Cures?
It does not have cures but treatment. The control of the processes autoinmunes that affect the skin requires the administration of great amounts of glucocorticoids via sistémica, with or without the administration of some other inmunodepresora drug. In addition the secondary complications of each case in individual will be due to fight.
The treatment in general is combined with oral or injectable antibiotics and baths of queratolíticos champúes.
