allergic Dermatitis by fleas
The allergic dermatitis by fleas (DAPP), affects the cats and dogs, are a reaction of hypersensitivity to one or component of the saliva of the flea. Several types of sensitivity, immediate can happen or of delayed reaction, that inflammation and prurito cause (picazón), that they induce to many of the injuries by rascado.
It is observed in summer, in warm and humid zones. The prurito or picazón is main the clinical sign and can be pronounced like wasted (as if they ate maize on the sea it or mazorca), rub, occur returned or to rascar itself. The cats clean up too much and hairs are taken. These manifestation causes secondary injuries to the rascado one that they are translated in inflammation, dry hairs, broken hairs, descamación of the skin, etc.
The injuries are based, generally, in the base of the tail and the lumbodorsal region (?back?), but also are pronounced on the region of the thighs, ingle and abdomen, although with smaller intensity.
The treatment is based on the elimination of the exhibition of the skin to the saliva of the fleas, by means of an effective treatment against the parasite, for the complete control of the problem, it is required to deal with to the affected mascot and the atmosphere the animal. In means seriously affected, the effective control can take more than 8 weeks to logar itself. One requires good predisposition, patience and the correct application of insecticides.
Once it is obtained the objective periodic controls for the maintenance of the eradication of the parasite are required.
