Extraction of garrapatas
The most indicated, than they fall single by action of a garrapaticida that can be in dust, liquid, aerosol or the practical pipettes that have a residual effect of 4 weeks. If another alternative does not have left that to remove it, is due to do with special clamps, without tightening the body because the content of the garrapata in the sanguineous torrent is injected and can transmit diseases to him to the animal.
It is necessary to take with special clamps the head from the garrapata without destroying the body of the parasite, and to throw firmly, the methods to apply querosén, the phosphorus or alcohol are not effective and the parasite can produce irritating saliva still more and infect the wound.
After extracting the garrapata to put it in alcohol to kill it, it is necessary to consider that the garrapatas do not die if they are thrown to the toilet or the sweepings.
To clean the place of the puncture with a disinfectant, also can be put antibiotic and antiinflammatory a cream, soon to wash well the hands.
Not to extract nor to squash the garrapata with the fingers, because the risk is run of contracting some disease transmitted by garrapatas.
After extracting it it is common that an inflammatory reaction in the place exists where the parasite sucked, can happen that it is left a scar in the place of the puncture with a small area without hair, this happens by the irritation produced by the saliva of the garrapata (that acts the anticoagulant as), is the saliva that produces the reaction and not as it thought that it is the head with the sucking apparatus that produced the irritation and in some cases infection, the more of the times head is not caught, the irritation and infection that can happen must to the toxic saliva, not to the permanence of the head with its ?hooks?.
Once extracted it is not rare that it is left an inflammatory injury in the skin, to place pomada antinflamatoria and antibiotic is indicated, but it can take one week or to heal more, in some cases it can be left to a scar leaving an area without hair in permanent form, all this must to the irritation caused by the toxic saliva of the parasite.
