canine Erlichiosis
It is a bacterial disease produced by erlichia canis, is known him like: Canine typhus, canine hemorrágica fever, canine idiopático linfohemorrágico syndrome, pancitopenia tropical, disease of the tracking dog,
Until the moment the brown garrapata (vector) of the dog is known that trasmite, rhipicephalus sanguineus.
3 phases of the disease are recognized: acute, subacute and chronic, which can be presented/displayed in forms moderate and severe:
The present clinical signs in general are enough inespecíficos, very high fever, neurological increase of ganglia, anemia, signs, blindness etc.
In the severe chronic form (he is commonest) a clinical picture is developed characteristic of hemorrhages (coaugulopatías), anemia, fever and linfodenomegalia (ganglia increased of size)
The diagnosis of canine Erlichiosis frequently can be difficult because many associated clinical signs with the disease are highly inespecíficos.
The signs that orient towards the diagnosis of canine Ehrlichiosis such as possession to us of garrapatas, can not be present at the moment of the consultation, in a high percentage of patients.
I diagnose habitually is arrived through a blood analysis of the patient (frotis sanguineous).
The treatment in a prolonged antibiotherapy, that not always responds the same one.
As prophylaxis of the disease recommends the strict control of garrapatas, as much on the dog as in the atmosphere where this one lives.
